SNee with the beautiful Tay family taken during Father's day in 2007

To SNee and her family, Rev UH Tay and his family are a beautiful family that we will never ever forget. When my daughter was diagnosed with terminal secondary cancer (colon and liver) and told that she was going to die, she broke down with desperation - lost and alone in an alien country with limited financial resources! She knelt down and prayed hard for help!

The Tay family being filled with compassion and christian love took her under their wing to care and provide quality life for her. At the same time Pastor Tay was busy making preparations to start a new church - the Impact International Church at Chatswood in Australia. Despite his hectic busy schedule and working under tight financial constraints, a busy working wife with two lovely daughters, they had to make lots of sacrifices to care after her. For example, Pastor had to borrow a car frequently to send SNee to the Westmead Hospital for her regular chemo treatments. He had to wait for hours and if he could not make it, he would contact the other church members to help out ( thanks to Uncle Lee and Patricia too) in the transport. Back home, the girls would try to cheer her up by spending time together - the girlish factors! Beside adjusting their lifestyles to accomodate the present situation, they had to change the menu of the their meals, they cut down on fried food and spent more time preparing healthy food for her and the whole family.

Just imagine, SNee and the Tay family did not even know each other at all. Who on earth would be so stupid to take in and care for a stranger who is terminally ill? Yes, it is done out of love for God. It was at this juncture that I could feel the warmth of Christ love flowing through me. Even though I was educated at the convent school where exposure to Christianity was a regular affair, I refused to accept HIM until now.

Pastor Tay called again today. It has been three months since SNee's passing, yet Pastor cares to take the trouble to call us to say hello. We are touched! Thank you for making the last leg of SNee's life as beautiful and as meaningful as possible!

We would like to take this opportunity again to thank Pastor Tay and his Family for laying the foundation of Christian love in my family. Your church and church members are full of life and showered Christian love to strangers (something that we have never felt before). You have made an impact on our lives!

Pastor Tay ( 2bless2build@gmail.com) has dreams of setting up a ministry home for the underprivileged. I pray hard that one day his dreams will be realised. In addition, I pray that his church will grow from strength to strength, from substance to substance, and from level to level and there will be lots of breakthroughs soon. God Bless the Family!

Thinking of You

SNee,
In the privacy of my own time,
Reading the books that you bought,
Listening to your CDs and DVDs,
Watching your movies,
Learning to hum your favourite hymn 'God Will Make a WAY',
Wearing your clothes to get the feel of you,
Caressing your pictures with sadness,
With teary eyes I look at you,
Your demure smile that I miss so much,
Just can't believe that I have lost you forever,
Just can't help doing all these things,
These are the reflections,
of GRIEF, HEARTACHE and SORROW of a mother.

Why Hurt People Hurt People

SNee,

Annie and I attended a church service at Terbernacle of Worship at Pulau Tikus today. The message 'Why Hurt People Hurt People' (www.josephmattera.org) was actually a continuation from last week's delivery by Pastor Joshua Low.

It was an insightful message where we learn that 'those who have been emotionally damaged tend to inflict their hurt and pain on other people.' 'The hurts that are not resolved and healed, will continue to influence us negatively. Many character flaws in our lives can be traced to past hurts. These character flaws continue to corrupt our relationships with others.'

'None of us are spared from being hurt, some more, some less.'

'Many are not aware of hurts in their lives and how these hurts are hidden because they have been pushed down or covered up because:
- the hurts apparently hurt less when pushed down or covered up
- they do not want people to know
- there seems to be no solution to their problem
- they have no understanding of how the hurts in their lives affect their character'

There are 'people who are spiritually gifted but act like emotional infants. In other words, the church must deal with emotional and not just spiritual health and power.'

'Jesus said that we have to release the sins of others if we are going to be released. This means that if we do not forgive others then the very thing we have become victimised with will become a part of our life. '

'The good news is that, we can also be healed and set free all past hurts so we can comfort others with the same comfort we ourselves have received from God (2Corinthians 1:4)

The message is an eye-opener to those who have relationship crossroads. It helps them to search their inner souls first before pointing their fingers at others. It is a norm that when we face any problems, we will always push the blame on others first. This message will help them to understand themselves better when coping or handling relationship 'hiccups'.

Thank you Pastor Joshua for your message and your prayers.

In Memory of Cheah Shieh Nee Through Her Blog!

The pang of excruciating pain of a mother to watch her flesh and blood passing on was beyond words. I felt so lost. I told myself, 'Why can't God take me instead of her? She's still so young, full of unfulfilled dreams and ready to take on life with zest...whyyyyyy?' No matter what happens, mum will always love you unconditionally and eternally. You will always be our beautiful lovable bubbly girl in our hearts.

We miss you so much that we want to keep your blog going. This is one way of keeping your memory alive the 'IT' way where we can reach out to your family members, relatives and friends from all the corners of the world wherever they are! If we feel like talking to you, we will pen our thoughts and feelings here - your love, your vision, your thoughts, your smiles, your beautiful heart will be immortalised in this blog!

"So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee."
By William Shakespeare

{As long as there are people reading this blog,
your love, your beauty and your memory will live on.}

Mum and Annie will be the keeper and the custodian of this blog. We will pick up from here. Shieh Nee, you wanted us to know Christ, your 'PA', we will walk with you cos we want to be reunited with you at the gate of 'Heaven' when the time comes. We will pray very hard for your Dad too, for he loves you very much.

Sorry that I took so long to follow up - just attended a short workshop on using ICT at Segi college Penang branch (Thank you Ms Cheryl Witaneachi for your assistance) and had to figure out how to go about it until just now. This is our first attempt at blogging!

Belated Happy 25th Birthday!

In Memory of Shieh Nee on her 25th Birthday Today!

God put His arm around you,
And whispered 'Come to me',
With tearful eyes we watched you,
And saw you pass on,
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay,
A young beautiful heart stopped beating,
Your forever bubbly lovely smiles faded away,
Hardworking hands now well rested,
Free from pains and worries,
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes The Best!
You have been an inspiration to all who have had the privilege of knowing you.
Rest in Peace.
Forever remembered in our hearts and prayers.

WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU A LOT!

Dad, Mum, Sis and All Loved Ones from far and near
